When you hunt with Little River Pheasant Hunts, you will be pheasant hunting one of South Dakota's best hunting areas. Located in the James River valley, just southeast of Aberdeen South Dakota, you will find an abundance of wildlife.
We also offer Chuckar, Hungarian partridge, Morning Doves, Ducks, Spring Snow Goose Hunt With 1.5+ million Birds In The County At Peak Times, Honker Depredation Season that starts in September, Varmints such as Fox, Coyote, and Walleye Fishing on the Missouri River. We also can guide you to just about any other Fresh Water Species with in a 1 1/2 hour drive from our Newly Built Lodge.
Please contact us as there are special needs for some of these hunts. Some of the Waterfowl Hunts and Whitetail Deer Hunts are time sensitive for peak periods. We want to be able to give you the best hunt we possibly can, and we will!
There are a number of Boone & Crocket Whitetail's taken from this area each year. As far as big racks go, it doesn't get any better than this. These aren't little bodied Texas Whitetails, these bruisers can tip the scales at 250 and even over 300 pounds. If you are from the southern part of the country you have never seen a whitetail of that size. These deer are corn fed and go great on the table.
We have a new lodge with 20 beds. If you have a larger group we will make the necessary arrangements to make sure all our customers are as comfortable as possible.
You are more then welcome to bring your own dogs. We have doggie lodging as well. If you don't have a dog, you will be hunting behind some of the finest German Shorthairs around. We do have pups and started dogs available at certain times of the year but they generally go fast. Often they are sold before we can get them posted on the site.

Accomodations
We have every comfort of home awaiting you when you arrive at Little River Pheasant Hunting.Our main lodge has a big screen TV is loaded with hundreds of stations from a satellite so you are sure to get your favorite college or pro football games in the evenings, free internet, or late afternoons after the hunt. We have a cook on site, to prepare meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I think you will find there is plenty of couch and recliner space in the main lounging area. We also have a poker table, video poker, foosball, free trap range and a host of other activities to keep you occupied while you are our guest. Most of our rooms have both bunk style beds, however we do have 3 queen bed rooms with full bathroom, to accommodate couples.
You are more than welcome to bring your dogs. They can come inside as long as there is not an obedience or house training problem. Anything your dog destroys will be replaced at the owners expense. We also have outside kennels in case you would rather keep your dog outside. These are located just north of the lodge. If you do not have your own dogs or enough dogs to work the cover our birds that you are in you . They are second to none and we know one of your memories that stands out will be the fantastic dog work.
