Biggins Hunting Service Inc. is a family owned operation that has been in the commercial pheasant hunting business since 1982. Be and I have been blessed to have all our children settled in Gregory and all of them are involved with this operation in one way or another. Our service offers down-home hospitality in a family atmosphere and we want your every visit to feel like you're coming 'home’.
When you come to our place it is a vacation as much as a hunt. Our primary emphasis and concern is to treat our hunters as valued friends while delivering 5 star customer service. Your hunting trip to Biggins Hunting Service is designed to be a memorable experience that will keep you talking for months.
We are looking forward to another great bird hunting season. Especially meeting our good friends from previous hunts, as well as the new friends we will meet in the upcoming year.
The regular
South Dakota pheasant hunting season runs from the third Saturday in October till December 30. The daily limit is three cock pheasants with a possession limit of fifteen.
I also do own and operate controlled shooting areas that are licensed by the South dakota Game Fish and Parks Commision. We can hunt pheasant and quail from September 1 to April 1 on our designated shooting areas. Because of our location in South Central South Dakota even the controlled shooting areas for pheasants are predominantly wild birds. Our main reason for controlled area is to extend our season and increase bag limit.

We are located in the heart of the best wild bird hunting in South Dakota. The combination of location and our farm practices -- leaving crops in the field for wild game feed, avoiding the use of chemicals, planting trees, leaving plenty of grass nesting areas and putting in watering holes -- is paying off big. These acres make for excellent nesting; and with wild birds producing 10-12 chicks per pheasant hen, we do everything possible to help the pheasants reach maturity. We want you to come to our place and see hundreds of wild pheasants instead of listening to us brag about how many raised birds we turned loose.
We have many different farm locations and types of crops, so that no matter the weather, we always have the right area and cover to get your limit of birds. It is not necessary for us to guarantee your limit because at Biggins Hunting Service, you will get your limit.
Pricing & Packages
Daily rate for a 2 to 5 day pheasant hunt............................... $700.00 per day
Our most common hun, this hunt includes:
- Full day wild bird hunt in natural habitat.
- Professionally guided hunts with well-trained gun dogs.
- Transportation to and from hunting fields.
- Cleaning, freezing and packaging your game.
- Hors d'oeuvres before dinner.
- Lodging in new, modern and comfortable atmosphere. (New 11,000 sq. lodge in '05)
- Meals are full course gourmet and home cooked. Wine with all dinners.
- Always available while in the field -- snacks, pops, juices and water.
- Cap, compliments of Biggins Hunting Service Inc.
- Daily maid service
- Mounted trap throwers for practice. I furnish all the clays.
- 10 station 50 shot Sporting Clays Course. I furnish all the clays.
- Mixed bag hunt in Sept. (pheasant/dove) No extra charge
